CampSync App FAQ's
1. What is CampSync?
CampSync is a web app designed to help groups easily coordinate and plan camping trips by organizing events, managing attendees, and tracking gear.
2. How do I create a new camping event?
After logging in, go to the Dashboard and click the Create New Event button. Fill in the details, such as event name, dates, location, and invite your camping crew. Or click the View Event Details on the sample "Upcoming" event and edit the sample event.
3. Can I edit an event after creating it?
Yes! Select the event you would like to edit, either from the Upcoming Event page or the Manage Event page. At the top of the event page, click the Edit Event button to make necessary edits and then the orange Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.
4. How do I invite friends or group members to an event?
Within the event, select the Participant tab and then orange Invite Participants button. There, you can either copy the event link and post it in places like Messenger, GroupMe, etc. or click the Share via Text if you're on your phone, which will bring up a new message. You can send someone an invite via text. Finally, you can also use the Recipient's Email box to send an invitation to someone's email address.
5. What is the gear planning feature?
This feature enables you to create a checklist of gear required for your trip, assign items to participants, and track what has been taken and what is still needed. Including adding custom gear items special to your particular event. Example: Rain is in the forecast, so people may now want to bring rain gear and extra tarps.
6. How does the weather forecast work in CampSync?
The app shows the weather forecast for your event location only if the event date is within the next 7 days. If your event is scheduled further out, you’ll see a message: "Weather forecast is not yet available. The National Weather Service provides forecasts up to 7 days in advance.”
7. Is CampSync free to use?
Yes! CampSync is free. Future pricing plans for premium features will be announced at a later date.
8. How can I provide feedback or report bugs?
We welcome your input! Use the feedback forms available in the app or contact us via email at campsyncapp@gmail.com.
9. Can I use CampSync on my mobile device?
CampSync is a web app optimized for mobile browsers, so you can plan and coordinate your trips on the go from any device.

Yes, we take your privacy seriously and use secure encryption methods to protect your personal information and event data.
