I recently took a cruise from Los Angeles to Mexico on Norwegian Cruise Line, and I thought it would be a great opportunity to share my must-have items for cruising. After cruising about eight times, including a memorable two-week journey to New Zealand and Australia, I've learned that the right gear can make all the difference in your experience at sea.

1. Fairy String Lights

If you’re staying in an inside cabin, I highly recommend bringing string lights. They not only add a fun and festive atmosphere but also help you keep track of time by mimicking daylight. It’s a simple way to make your cabin feel more inviting and less claustrophobic.  Purchase fairy lights 



2. Reed Diffuser with Lavender Perfume and Motion Sickness Bracelets

Motion sickness can be a concern while cruising, so I always pack a lavender-scented reed diffuser. The calming scent helps alleviate my nausea. I love dressing up for dinner on cruises, but I'm not a fan of waiting for professional photographers. 4. Onesie and House Shoes for Comfort

For longer cruises, I always pack a onesie and house shoes. After a day of exploring or lounging by the pool, there's nothing better than slipping into something cozy for the evening or those relaxing days at sea. 5. Dual Voltage Steamer and Extension Cord

Wrinkles are inevitable when packing, but I never worry because I bring my dual voltage steamer. It’s compact and effective for keeping my clothes looking fresh. 6. Magnets and Table Decor

Some cruise lines allow you to use magnets to decorate your cabin door, which is a fun way to personalize your space. I love my Grinch-themed magnets! For longer trips, I also bring table runners and placemats to spruce up our bedside tables and the typical vanity area in cruise ship rooms. 7. Shawl for Chilly Evenings

Cruise ships can get surprisingly cold, especially in dining rooms or theaters. A shawl is a lightweight and stylish way to stay warm while still looking put together. It’s typically one of the main things I purchase when I am traveling abroad. Either a big shawl or poncho.





8. Reusable Cups (Like Yeti Tumblers)

If you enjoy spending time by the pool, a reusable cup is a must-have. I prefer Yeti-style tumblers because they keep drinks cold for hours, which is perfect for those hot, sunny days at sea. But I also recognize that you all love your Stanley Cups.😆 Purchase your Yeti cup
